How It All Began
A Mission Born from Passion
Cadence Academy was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every student deserves access to an educator who truly understands them. Not just their academic gaps, but their learning style, their confidence levels, and their potential.
Our founder, Shailey Puri, saw firsthand how transformative the right tutor-student relationship could be — and set out to build a service that made that experience accessible, consistent, and exceptional for families across South Australia.
Meet the Founder
Shailey Puri
Shailey founded Cadence Academy with a clear and heartfelt mission — to ensure students love mathematics rather than fear it. Her approach centres on building genuine confidence, filling gaps in understanding, making real-world connections, and preparing students for acceleration in mathematics at school.
As the founder of My Magic Maths (established in South Australia in 2017), Shailey has spent years helping students discover that mathematics can be approachable, meaningful, and even enjoyable.

Milestones
The Spark of an Idea
Shailey Puri, a passionate educator with years of experience in the South Australian school system, identified a growing gap — students were struggling to find consistent, high-quality tutoring that truly matched their individual learning needs. The seed for Cadence Academy was planted.
Building the Vision
After months of research, consultation with educators, and listening to families across Adelaide, the Cadence Academy model took shape. The core philosophy was clear: tutoring should come to the student, delivered by elite educators who are carefully matched to each learner's style and goals.
Cadence Academy is Born
Cadence Academy was officially established as an Australian tutoring service based in Myrtle Bank, South Australia. The name "Cadence" was chosen deliberately — reflecting rhythm, flow, and the natural progression of learning when the right support is in place.
Growing Our Tutor Network
A rigorous selection process was developed to onboard only the most dedicated and qualified tutors. Each educator is vetted not just for academic excellence, but for their ability to connect with students, inspire curiosity, and adapt their teaching to individual needs.
Opening Our Doors
With our Myrtle Bank location opening soon at 320 Glen Osmond Road, Cadence Academy is preparing to welcome students from Year 3 through to Year 12 from across Adelaide. Our in-home tutoring service is already active, bringing elite educators directly to families.
